Celebrating Excellence in Sport

The First VIII prepare for their A Final Race at the Head of Schoolgirls Regatta on the Barwon River in Geelong, March 2024.
Welcome

Introduction

Sport is a special part of our culture at Melbourne Girls Grammar. Whether it is the roar of the Merton Army at the Head of Schoolgirls Regatta or on the sidelines of the football field, there is no doubt our Grammarians find passion in sport.

All Grammarians have a place to belong when it comes to sport at MGGS. From the first time a Grammarian picks up a ball at the ELC, to competing on the national stage, MGGS fosters a sporting culture where excellence is defined not only by victories, but by the number of Grammarians who find joy, connection and purpose through physical activity every day.

This edition of Information Exchange (IE) celebrates excellence in sport at MGGS and explores the profound impact sport makes on our School, and on the lives of our Grammarians. As we highlight the achievements of both current and past Grammarians, along with the guidance and inspiration provided by our dedicated staff, we reflect on the strong foundation we continue to build. This foundation empowers future generations of Grammarians to reach their full potential on and off the sporting field.
