Donate to the Red Brick Appeal

Annual Giving at Melbourne Girls Grammar is taking a different direction this year.

Rather than sending out a letter asking far and wide for donations, we are instead looking to reach out to our community to encourage them to give to our Red Brick Appeal.

We have done much to enhance our campus with new buildings like Artemis…The next step is to modernise and preserve our red brick buildings – they symbolise the legacy of the past, enabling MGGS to continually innovate and improve our learning experiences for our Grammarians.

We want to:

  • Return students to the upper level of Phelia Grimwade House.
  • Identify and create new classroom spaces within the existing campus footprint.
  • Declutter our access points and make getting to learning spaces easily accessible
  • Excite our community by demonstrating that we know how to educate girls and what they need to achieve their personal best.

Our future projects echo this vision for MGGS and the future of girls’ education. We are forward facing and know that we are equipped to adapt to the rapid pace of change we see in our world. We continue to reinforce that MGGS has and always will be at the forefront of education; from the times of Gilman Jones and the much loved DJ Ross, MGGS has always been future focused. Things change; change is the constant in our world. Throughout, as educational leaders we continue to inspire ethical women of action. For, our Grammarians, we know will be our future leaders.

Glenhope has been the catalyst; our community are the enablers.

Phelia Grimwade House has over many generations accommodated student learning. The new upstairs centre will focus on excellence in learning – it will be an environment designed to encourage higher order thinking, collaboration, intellectual debate, and give back to our Grammarians beautiful spaces that will facilitate contemporary learning and teaching practices. Within the Merton Hall campus, we seek to create five new learning spaces. Our Boarding House is also slated for a makeover!

We are looking to our community to support our vision for the future. This is the next step in addressing the demand for an education at Merton Hall; the next is an exciting new building. More details about this will be shared with the community later this year.

Please join us by supporting our Red Brick Appeal this year on Thursday 15 August.

To give before the day, donate via our website page. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
