From the Chair

Our school has built an enviable record of innovation in preparing our students to engage in the future in a bold, courageous and dynamic way. In a changing world which requires a willingness to remain engaged in a lifetime of education, our Grammarians are being supported to adapt to significant technological and cultural change.

As a school, we design our educational programs to inspire and challenge our students to prepare them for a life of learning, thinking and critical engagement. A love for education and a strong positive experience from their time at school, sets the foundations for the active engagement in a lifetime of learning and the ability to adapt. It is critical that we are creative in our educational programs, preparing for a wide range of possible paths from entrepreneurialism, the arts or creative endeavours, to emerging technologies and more traditional academic fields. It is likely our Grammarians will undertake careers and areas of future study in fields that continue to evolve today.

Our focus is on encouraging bold thinking and leadership. We seek to enable each of our graduates to have confidence and resilience; they need to be able to define their individual path through the choices they make and the opportunities they embrace. Council, in setting our strategic plan, have focused on ensuring ongoing innovation, investment in our curriculum, and the development of our staff, technology and school environment, to ensure we remain the leading innovative educator of girls in Melbourne. This requires clear strategic planning and working together with the generous support of our parents, staff and community.  

Our Strategic Plan 2020-2025 sets out clearly our goals and aims to enable us to engage with the future with great confidence. A key milestone will be the redevelopment of Ross Hall as a community hub which will reinforce our School's culture and lift our theatre, arts and creative studies to match the level of innovation which has been provided by the Artemis Centre, Wildfell, Science Centre and other innovations in the past decades. A clear holistic plan has been developed and we look forward to working with our community as it is implemented.
