Building Brighter Futures

At the core of every thriving school is a community bound by the shared belief that education is a lifelong gift for today’s students and future generations.

Melbourne Girls Grammar’s progress and vitality owe much to the generosity of donors who champion the power of education to transform lives. Their support goes beyond buildings – they create opportunities, nurture our culture and ensure the School’s continued evolution.

Philanthropy is an investment in the dreams and ambitions of young people. Donations give our school resources beyond regular state or federal funding, helping us create learning environments that ignite curiosity and foster achievement. Whether funding new facilities or innovative programs, every gift impacts our Grammarians’ daily experiences and opens new doors.

Philanthropy is more than financial assistance – it’s an investment in young people’s dreams and ambitions.

Throughout our history, the School community’s commitment to development and improvement has been remarkable. This dedication isn’t limited to physical spaces; it’s about cultivating a place where students feel inspired, safe and motivated to become their best selves. Generations of families, alumnae and friends have contributed, united by the belief that a vibrant school strengthens the broader community.

Behind every transformation on campus are the stories of individuals – parents, alumnae and staff – whose faith in our purpose propels progress. Their support, large or small, is the backbone of our success. It requires vision and courage to invest in a future you may never witness, yet our donors’ ongoing commitment demonstrates a deep belief in the power of girls’ education.

A significant milestone occurred in January with the opening of the Ken Jasper AM Wing. Thanks to Ken Jasper AM’s generosity, this state-of-the-art space now offers flexible learning areas, advanced technology and peaceful study zones for senior students and educators. The Wing has rapidly become a centre for academic energy, creativity and collaboration, and it stands as a lasting reminder of what a united vision can achieve.

“The light, colour palette, artwork and connection to nature, coupled with the flexible layout of the furniture and architectural features of these rooms, make it feel homely. Even down to the little decorative elements, like the plant on the fireplace mantle, make us feel like the School knows we will respect the space.” — Year 11 student feedback

In August, the new ELC Deck was unveiled, creating a vibrant outdoor haven for our youngest learners. Designed to encourage imagination and exploration, it has enriched the early years’ experience at MGGS, providing children with a revitalised safe and engaging space for hands-on activity and development. This project was realised through the heartfelt support of those who know that strong foundations are set early.

Behind every campus transformation are the stories of individuals – parents (past and present), alumnae and staff – whose belief in our mission fuels progress.

The forward journey continues with Glenhope, a milestone acquisition expanding academic spaces at the Merton Hall campus. Plans for Glenhope include lush gardens, secure grounds and visitor parking, all designed to better engage with the broader School community. Soon, Glenhope will be the home of the Old Grammarians Society, fostering lasting connections between past and present, and securing a welcoming gathering place for generations.

Every contribution, no matter its size, helps us build a school that reflects our values and aspirations. We celebrate these milestones with gratitude for the donors whose belief in our mission has created thriving spaces for students. We invite all in our community to continue this tradition of giving – together, we’ll keep Melbourne Girls Grammar a place of opportunity and inspiration for years to come.

The generosity of these families and individuals is significant and ensures that we are leading the way in young women’s education and creating opportunities for Grammarians to attend Melbourne Girls Grammar and for whom the school may be outside their means.
